ألفُ صَلاةٍ مَعَ سَلامي
A thousand prayers and peace be upon him
Alfu salati ma‘a salami
عَلَى الحَبيبِ سَيِّدِ الكِيَانِ
Upon the Beloved, the Master of all creation
‘Alal habībi sayyidil kiyānī
حَمدًا لِرَبِّي عَلَى اللِّقَاءِ
Praise be to my Lord for granting me the encounter
Hamdan li rabbī ‘alal liqā’i
أَوفَرَ هَذِ المَنزِلِ اللَّوَانِي
For this generous and radiant station
Awfar hādhil manzili lawānī
بَدرُ البُدُورِ بَحرُ البُحُورِ
The full moon of moons, the ocean of oceans
Badrul budūri bahrul buhūri
فَيضُ الفُيُوضِ وَالخَتْمُ الثَّانِي
The flood of divine effusions and the second Seal
Faydul fuyūdi wal khatmu thānī
شَمسُ الشُّمُوسِ رَأسُ الرُّؤُوسِ
The sun of all suns, the head of all heads
Shamssu shumūsi ra’su ru’ūssi
تَاجُ الحُرُوسِ سَبعُ المَثَانِي
The crown of guardians, the seven oft-repeated verses
Tājul hurūsi sab‘al mathānī
أُفرِدُ بَردًا دُهِتُ عَبدًا
I stand devoted, bewildered as a servant
Ufridu bardan duhitu ‘abdan
رَخنًا وَلَفظًا تَاجُ تِجَانِي
Soft in word and deed, the crown of Tijānī
Rakhnan wa lafẓan tāju tijānī
خَوصُ العِبَادِ نَفحُ البِلادِ
The elite of servants, the fragrance of the lands
Khawsu-l ‘ibādi nafhu-l bilādi
يَاقُوتُ الحَقِّ رُوحُ المَعَانِي
The ruby of Truth, the soul of meanings
Yāqūtu-l haqqi rūhu-l ma‘ānī
عَبدُ الإِلٰهِ خَلِيلُ اللهِ
Servant of God, friend of Allah
‘Abdu-l ilāhi khalīlu-llāhi
حَبِيبُ اللهِ مَكتُومُ الثَّانِي
Beloved of God, the hidden second
Habību-llāhi maktūmu-th thānī
رَدُّ الأَجَازِي إِلَى صُدُورٍ
Returning the permissions to the hearts
Raddu-l ajāzi ilā ṣudūrin
آيَاتُ الحَقِّ مَعنَى المَعَانِي
Signs of Truth, the essence of meanings
Āyātu-l haqqi ma‘nā-l ma‘ānī
قَرمُ الكُرُومِ فَهمُ الفُهُومِ
The noble of nobles, the understanding of understanding
Qarmu-l kurūmi fahmu-l fuhūmi
قَطمُ القُرآنِ نَافِعُ سِنَانِي
The seal of the Qur’an, beneficial and sharp
Qaṭmu-l qur’āni nāfi‘u sinānī
بَرهَامَ هَذَا بَرهَامَ سَهمِي
This Abraham, my arrow and guide
Barhāma hādhā barhāma sahmī
فَهُوَ حَسبِي وَقَد كَفَانِي
He is enough for me, and He has sufficed me
Fahuwa hasbī wa qad kafānī
مُجلِ الفُهُولِ مُحتِلُ الوُصُولِ
He who unveils the masters and attains the union
Mujlilu-l fuhūli muhtillu-l wusūli
مُبدِعُ السُّهُونِ قَطمُ القُرآنِ
The innovator of ease, the seal of the Qur’an
Mubdi‘u-s suhūni qaṭmu-l qur’āni
هَدَيتُ فَردي سَكَرتُ عَزي
I guided myself alone, drunk with my love
Hadaytu fardī sakartu ‘izzī
لَبَّيتُ دَاعِي كَمَا دَعَانِي
I answered the call as He called me
Labbaytu dā‘ī kamā da‘ānī
رَمزُ الوُجُودِ سَهدُ الشُّهُودِ
The symbol of existence, the essence of witnessing
Ramzu-l wujūdi sahdu-sh shuhūdi
وَفِي الهُدَى رَبِّي الحُسَانِي
And in guidance lies my Lord’s beauty
Wa fi-l hudā rabbī-l husānī
أَنتَ المُرَبِّي لِمَن يُلَابِي
You are the Educator of those who strive
Anta-l murabbī liman yulābī
نِدَاؤُهُ صِدقٍ بِلَا ضَمَانِ
His call is truth without condition
Nidā’uhu sidqin bilā damānī
بَل أَنتَ نَادِي سُمُوَّ المُلَابِي
Indeed, You are the club of the exalted seekers
Bal anta nādī sumuwwa-l mulābī
لِذَا وُجِدتُ بِلَا تَوَانِي
That is why I was found without hesitation
Lidhā wujidtu bilā tawānī
أَنتَ المُنَادِي أَنتَ المُلَابِي
You are the caller, You are the answerer
Anta-l munādī anta-l mulābī
لَبَّيتُ جَهرًا دَومَ تِهَانِي
I answered openly, forever rejoicing
Labbaytu jahran dauma tihānī
أَزَلُ المُرِيدِ يُرِيدُ رَيَّانِ
The eternal seeker desires satisfaction
Azalu-l murīdu yurīdu rayyānī
يَومًا وَلَيلًا رَبَّ الدِّينَانِ
By day and night, the Lord of both worlds
Yawman wa laylan rabba-d dīnānī
وَزَا مُحِبُّ يُحِبُّ دَحضَانِ
And the lover loves passionately
Wazā muhibbu yuhibbu dahdānī
وَوقْتًا وَصَحْوًا فِي المَلَوَانِ
At every time and in all states of being
Wa waqtan wa sahwan fi-l malawānī
فَزَا مُحِبُّ يُحِبُّ صِدقًا
Thus the lover loves sincerely
Fazā muhibbu yuhibbu sidqan
فَأَنتَ صِدقِي بِلَا امْتِنَانِ
For You are my truth without pretense
Fa anta sidqī bilā imtinānī
عَانَقتُ رَحلِي جَنَابَ شَيخِي
I embraced the path of my Shaykh
‘Ānaqtu rahlī janāba shaykhī
رَجَوتُ مِنهُ دُرَرَ المَعَانِي
Hoping from him the pearls of meanings
Rajawtu minhu durara-l ma‘ānī
تَمَّت مَقَالِي بِلَا كَمَالٍ
My words are complete though without perfection
Tammat maqālī bilā kamālin
سَمِعتُ مِنهُ نَيْلَ الأَمَانِي
I heard from him the attainment of hopes
Sami‘tu minhu nayla-l amānī
ألفُ صَلاةٍ مَعَ سَلامي

Upon the Beloved, the Master of all creation
‘Alal habībi sayyidil kiyānī
