He drew near and rose beyond any conceivable modality,
Danâ fatadalâ dûna kayfin fa innahû
where even the heights of the Realm of Power (Jabarūt) could not reach.
Taqâssara ‘an hâdhâ dhurâ al-Jabarûtî
A secret passed to a secret, within the Secret of the One,
Fa sirrun sarâ li sirrin bi sirri wahdahû
and it was called nothing but the Truth (al-Ḥaqq) and the secret of Divinity (Lāhūt).
Famâ summiya illâ al-Haqq wa sirru al-Lâhûtî
O what a wondrous vision there, and what exaltation!
Fayâ laka min mash-hadin hunâka wa mâ samâ
There ascended the Beloved of God, His noble Messenger.
Awâhu Ḥabîbu-llâhi wa ruslu mâhûtû
Who can be compared to the one who spoke with his Lord,
Fa ayna turâ mimmâ ra’â wa ayna kalimuhû
and to the one brought near in the sanctuary of Divine intimacy?
Wa ayna alladhî nâjâ wa masjidul-ulhûtî
Upon him be God’s blessings and peace,
‘Alayhi ṣalawâtu-llâhi thumma salâmuhû
through whom provisions are made easy and existence is illuminated.
Bihi yash-hulu al-arzâqu wa ya‘îshu al-wujûdû
Upon him be God’s blessings and peace,
‘Alayhi ṣalawâtu-llâhi thumma salâmuhû
for from his lights shines forth the radiance that illumines humanity (nasūt).
Fa tashruqu min anwârihi khurra an-Nâsûtî
Upon him, his noble family, and his Companions,
‘Alayhi ma‘a âli-l kirâmi wa ṣaḥbihî
prayers from the All-Merciful, a mercy without end.
Ṣalâtun mina ar-Raḥmâni raḥmatun lâ tanfadu
