MÉDINA BAYE | As the Eid al-Adha (Tabaski) celebration approaches, scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, the holy city of Médina Baye has once again demonstrated its deep commitment to solidarity through a major charitable initiative for the needy.
The Imam of the Grand Mosque and spokesperson for the Khalifa of the Faydha Tijaniyya, Shaykh Mouhamadoul Mahi Alioune Cissé, led a large-scale distribution of livestock to the residents of Médina Baye and surrounding areas. The distribution included:
- 467 sheep 🐑
- 247 cattle 🐄
- 97 goats 🐐
This long-standing tradition, renewed each year for Eid al-Adha, aims to ensure that underprivileged families can celebrate the feast with dignity, joy, and a spirit of sharing, in accordance with the Islamic values of generosity and social solidarity.
At the same time, Imam Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Cissé, a major spiritual figure and grandson of Baye Niass, also donated 540 additional sheep to families in need, continuing his lifelong commitment to humanitarian service during this blessed occasion.
These two complementary and powerful initiatives reflect the ongoing dedication of Médina Baye’s religious leaders to supporting the most vulnerable, and further highlight the spiritual, humanitarian, and moral influence.
🙏 May Allah richly reward all the benefactors and bless the spiritual leaders in their noble mission.
